Description: This poster presentation will examine REL Pacific’s professional learning training work in progress in multiple jurisdictions in the Pacific Region, with a specific focus on contextualizing professional learning across diverse populations.
The poster will focus on the characteristics of effective professional learning designs, following Killion & Crow's Standards for Professional Learning, which suggest that development be job-embedded, involve effective coaching, be sustained, and be evaluated using acquired data. The poster will also include information on how “learning walks” can be used to provide real-time evaluation of teaching performance and can help identify “bright spots” that can be generalized across classrooms.
Audience: The primary audience for this event will be participants at the 2019 H-PEA Conference in Hawai‘i.
